Social Media sites for Antietam National Battlefield and Antietam Battlefield Guides

As the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Antietam is fast approaching, many new things are starting to get underway at the park. Among these are some new social media sites to reach out to those who are interested in the battlefield and what we do here. Now, Antietam Battlefield has an official facebook page. It has been up and running for a few months, and is frequently updated with photographs, stories, monument quizzes, and information about the park. Additionally, some new things are in store for the Antietam Battlefield Guides, the private guide association which is run through the Western Maryland Interpretive Association and the park bookstore. The guide program will be offering some new tours and programs in the upcoming year. To help the guide association grow, it also has a new facebook page, which you can find here. As one who works both as a park ranger and as a battlefield guide, I recommend checking these pages out and following them to stay up to date with the developments occuring at Antietam.
